It is a thin (relatively large footprint) attractive unit that can be used to power many different devices on the "Smart Tip" adapter. The unit runs very hot (hot) from the network, but it seems to run much cooler with DC (which is my primary mode). As mentioned in other reviews, the cable is so short that I use an extension cable, rather than get out of the socket, as he proposed Kensington. The unit turns on my Toshiba with no problems (only the device with a reasonableArea to radiate heat). The only down side for me is that a "Smart Tip" is not available for my digital camera (it would be nice to use). Kensington site displays the smart-tip adapter for Sony digital cameras only. I am happy with this product. Check the Kensington website for the availability of smart-peak current of all devices.
